Everything started when our father, the winery’s founder Benito Vázquez, planted the emblematic Albariño old vines in the Carballal estate. These initial productions, together with those of other wine growers in the area, were in charge of proving the quality of the albariños in Galicia, thus promoting the establishment of the current DO Rías Baixas (a Spanish prestigious product classification).
Our wines are bottled under the Carballal brand, sharing the name of the estate which was once full of oak trees (“carballos” in Galician lang.); and Sete Cepas (seven vines) to honour the seven brothers involved in the vineyard.
Our state-of-the-art winery, surrounded by vines, is also open to visitors, where they can carry out different scheduled activities related to wine tourism, including a presentation of our wines, whose personality lies in the fact that “behind every bottle there are plenty hours of sun, Atlantic breeze and rain, action of the soil,… and the work of people who are passionate about wine and wine growing”.
